IT'S A BANK. IT'S A GALLERY. IT'S  BOTH!

 

 

The Art Trust is a volunteer-based organization which supports and cultivates the exploration of a contemporary aesthetic for the benefit of artists and the community. We hold 6-8 exhibits a year. Thanks to the support of our corporate sponsor, Meridian Bank, we are able to use net proceeds from sales for art scholarships & sponsorships. In 2020 through proceeds of art sales and in partnership with exhibiting artists, we awarded over $10,000 art organizations, artist grants and community organizations affected by COVID.

The Art Trust was founded in June, 2006. At that time, Meridian Bank was in search of a "footprint" in downtown West Chester. Chris Annas, President of Meridian Bank, found the perfect location in 16 W. Market Street, originally the home of Garrubbo Bazan Gallery. Patricia Bazan-Garrubbo, the owner of the gallery (and one of The Art Trust founding members) recruited a group of dedicated art enthusiasts interested in keeping the art community thriving in the small town: Ellie Byrom-Haley, Chris Youngs, Diane Cirafesi and Valetta. Together with Annas, they created The Art Trust Gallery at Meridian Bank.

Meridian Bank continues its enthusiastic support of The Art Trust by funding 100% of our fiscal budget, allowing us to direct proceeds from sales to scholarships and art sponsorships.
